I know nothing about playing an instrument or read music and want to learn to play the violin or the piano, but I can not really my mind. I think a little more like the violin, but have heard that it is better to learn to play the piano so I could first learn to recognize the pitch (something), is that true? because if it is true that I think even you, I still like the violin do I go for piano first, of course, prefer to teach yourself to play the violin. Do you think I should do?

I think you should learn how to play the piano, but you should choose the instrument that you’re more interested in. This way, you’ll feel even more motivated to practice and learn new things.

I chose piano as my first instrument, and now I play about four instruments in total. I do feel that learning how to read notes would be easier with the piano (maybe picturing the keys in your head for each note). I also think that piano would be easier to start off with.

    Good luck! (:

I would suggest starting with piano.

First of all, both instruments require reading musical scores, but the piano has an advantage: if you play the same note any number of times, you get the same sound. Second, the notes are arranged in order, and related to a specific position in the board. Opposite to this, when playing violin, you don’t have any markings to determine a specific note. If you slide your finger up or down the note will increase or decrease frequency, changing to a different note. Also, until you learn how to press the string, the sound may not be the one you expect.
Therefore, go from easy to complex, start by memorizing what each note sounds like by studying piano, and after you master it, get on the violin. And remember that when you tune up a violin, you use nomally the piano sound as a reference
    good luck

Don’t listen to everything you hear.
If you want to learn violin, learn it!!!
later on, you’ll see why the piano is set up the way it is.
You’re not going to learn any better by learning the
    piano first.

with a piano you push a key and out comes a sound, with a violin you play it and have to imagine the sound. The violin can be played in any key, the piano in none. The violin is a musical instrument, the piano a musical type-writer. Enough of such nonsense. It comes to this:-

Piano: Useful skill, always in demand as accompanist
Violin: requires and imbues a greater degree of musical “key-sense”

to learn the pitch of notes, surely a string instrument Must be better

They are both really good instruments to play with. I play piano and i really enjoy it and i’m in grade 7. But you can play both and see which one you like best out of those two. To me i think you should play piano first before violin, because piano has low and high pitches and it really helps you with the technical work.
It is best to play ranges of instruments because i know a very good friend and she plays piano and a saxophone and she is very talented. Choose the one that you feel more comfortable with. Ask your friends or family and they could advise you a bit more.
I hope you’ll turn out fantastic in future, if you choose to play these two instruments and getting experienced at it. Playing these instruments, they both go well together, like in a song or a band that you might put together.
    hope you’ll go well =D

    start with piano
although violin also plays a beautiful sound, piano is much easier and faster to learn
plus i think that the piano has a much more beautiful sound than the violin

Knowing piano first gives you a slight advantage, but if you really want to play violin just start with that. The advantage of knowing piano first isn’t so great that you should learn it just for the sake of having a head start in playing violin.

Personally, I enjoy the violin more. I think piano is boring, because all you really do is press keys and push pedals. The violin is far more expressive. (Just my opinion :D ).

I highly doubt that playing piano first will help. Like… it would help in things such as learning to read music. But you’d learn that anyway doing violin. It may help your pitch, and it may not. It depends on the person. For me, the piano was totally useless. It never helped my violin playing. Ever.

One more thing. It takes a long time to get a decent sound out of a violin. Most probably, for a few years, you will play out of tune and scratchy. With piano, you will never need to worry about being out of tune. Even the most simple of songs will definitely be bearable to listen to. But… with violin… once you pass the stage of playing out of tune etc, it is absolutely wonderful. Also, piano is a more common instrument. Just some things to consider.

I think the most important thing would be to choose what you prefer. Hope that helped.
