Clair de lune from scratch: Piano Lesson #13, Measure 11, Part 1
Please visit PianoFromScratch.com to view all of the lessons and download the sheet music. This is a tricky measure, so we’re going to tackle it in two parts. We learn about eyeballing octaves and how to use our hands as “octave cookie cutters” to more easily find our way around; we’ll start working on the right hand octaves first before adding the inner notes, talking about how to play them in a relaxed manner. You can download a PDF of the score as part of the Suite Bergamasque from IMSLP.org here imslp.org You can also download the MusicReader version of Clair de lune itself here: airturn.com MusicReader is a program that gives you the ability to annotate your score with digital ink, just like I do on these lesson videos. For more information about MusicReader, please visit airturn.com

@ Brookeycowan13 I’m so glad that you enjoy these lessons! Well, at the time of this writing, I’ve been playing piano for 38 years – that makes me a very old man!
These lessons are very good! : D How long have you been?
Thank you! I use several programs – MusicReader to see the music, Pianoteq to see the pedals (I pass on Home Concert Xtreme on video later, which makes it much easier to see the two pedals and a keyboard with notes in a hurry ) AirTurn to turn pages, and hands free, Windows Vista Snipping Tool to cut the music, and Windows Journal to glue the pieces of music and the surcharge.
