Depends on what kind of set up you have at home and what kind of keyboard you have. I run my 'Triton' using 1/4 inch phono cables from the main audio output ports into one of my mixing channels. You can also bypass using a mixer if you have the right audio ports in the back of your PC. It really will depend on what ports are available on both your PC and Keyboard. There are numerous ways but I'd need more info. Also, you might have to let the program your working with know that you want to hear the sounds coming from your Keyboard (ex. enable the auxiliary stereo inputs/outputs on your recording program).

Adding on to what you said about no power...
Your probably gonna have to buy a new cord unless you can ghetto rig the one you have by splicing the cables and joining them at the problem area. I dint know if you can feed phantom power into a keyboard to supply it with power but I doubt it? But hey, i might be wrong.

Yes it is possible. I use Macintosh and I have a software installed called Garage Band. That has been used for an amateur music recording. Anyway, the program has "Musical typing" option and when it's turned on it displays piano keys on the screen with corresponding letter on the keyboard for every note. So by pressing those keys on your keyboard you actually can play a piano. It's good enough for basi stuff and it needs bit of time to master it. For Windows you can try "Virtual Piano" software:
