How to Play Popular Piano in 10 Easy Lessons: The Fastest, Easiest Way to Learn to Play from Sheet Music or by Ear

It seems that there are two main ways of teaching the piano. In the first, it grinds along as a junior typist learn how to strike the keys in response to the printed music. The partition starts easy and gets harder. A brain and fingers to get better at working together. When you are hammering the notes well enough compositions very hard, it is considered a very good pianist.
The other form of education focuses on learning chords and music theory. The idea here seems to be that if you have a theory, we can know where to place your fingers. So you learn a melody and then, using music theory and agreements added Fake books. After a little practice, proponents of this process claim, we can really make music, I. e. Play the songs you like and it sounds good, but not necessarily how they are written in the scores.
Both approaches have problems. The first is a chore, and if you really want to make music, you must participate in this task for years. The second requires, but does not teach or encourage a large number of installations to hit the right keys. It is very funny how the music comes together and how you can play. However, it is very frustrating not to have developed the physical coordination to actually do. Monath
The book uses the latter approach. This is a delightful introduction to music theory, chords, scales, and how music is as a whole. Like many books that follow the second approach, style borders on messianic. Yes, you start playing the songs almost immediately. Unfortunately, without much practice, the first songs that can take an hour or more to search through.
If you have some ease on the keyboard, this could be a very useful book. Otherwise, it will immediately become followers reading this book, to read the book will be interesting, useful and instructive.
I must say that if you are considering this book, you may want to look at the Cannell and Marx’s work – “How to play the piano, despite years of lessons.” Cannell and Marx follow the same approach but it describes some things differently and focus on things a little differently. Cannell The book provides a much more detailed (and mechanical) patron actually playing the songs – a big advantage.

For the beginner, this book is excellent. I looked in many books when I started playing the piano, and most of them are either too complicated or too simplistic. This book, however, is the one who fell in the middle and helped me to understand all sorts of important ideas in music such as harmony and melody, building chords and scales (and understanding how) to read music, how to understand progressions, and how to play by ear and improvise. It is probably intended to get “and play with the easiest, fastest, at a moderate pace, with good depth of information that does not get overwhelming. For this reason, this book is probably more appropriate for person who has no experience in music and want to learn the basics of how to play in fake books and start to improvise. Probably not good for those who want in depth and more advanced music theory, but an excellent book to use as a springboard to greater Adva! NCED study piano. Book is a must have for any beginnger.

After teaching piano for “traditional” for 20 years, I bought this book for a student who has already played for music, but I wanted to learn to play off of a sheet of chords (used many Christians Praise Band). Mr. Monath clear terms used to describe how to play the piano, basic chords found in the books of most false. I found that very often the pianist who teaches the course using a traditional method of piano can not play the basic chords or playing by ear. This book gives examples of songs to try to play using the right melody and the chords of the hand. I do not recommend this book to someone who does not read music at all, but for anyone who has had piano lessons and can play traditional melodies base of the right hand is a great way to learn to play agreements and meet with Fake books or praise music.

Book by Norman Monath is the music itself more practical instructions for intelligent adults I have ever seen. It is clearly geared for people who want to do what the title says, playing the piano popular piano in front of each grave. You will not learn much treble, the position of the fingers or an appropriate technique here. But it will not happen for months, saying, “Tommy Turtle” and “Camptown Races” (or rather leave it all in despair). The basic idea is to learn the working arrangements (which is not as complicated as I thought!) And then start playing in a simple but effective melody with his right hand, consistent with the block the left. At age 44, could read music but not play the piano. Within days, literally, of reading the book Monath, I bought a fake book and started using it. This is not a system during the night, you become a professional pianist – but it is a legitimate alternative. I like it!

It was the fourth “beginner” book on the piano that had tried, but was by far the best! In fact, he could have skipped the first quarter and was much better. Monath
style was easy to understand and which included the right mix of examples and explanations to it worthwhile.
I liked his book, so I just ordered his book on the guitar. Not bad for someone who could not find even half ago “C” just six months!
highly recommend this book for the beginner. You’ll be playing songs in no time with this book you will learn quickly enough to pick up a book of music and lyrics do not try.
