With playing violin, you already have an ear for music and most likely know basic music theory that will carry over into piano playing. Reading different clefs may take a little time to get used to, and your right hand fine motor skills might need a little more work if it's normally used to bowing. But overall, I don't think it will be painstakingly hard with your background. Good luck!! It shouldn’t be extremely difficult.. I know for a fact that knowledge of an instrument helps. I started playing piano at the age of 8 but never got very far in it and quit at the age of 9 without a grade to show for it. i picked up guitar 1 year later, very much enjoyed that and then, when i picked up the piano again at the age of 14 i found it much easier.
