I took piano lessons as a child about three years. As an adult I tried to follow my own method books, and I tried some teachers. I do not progress. Then I discovered Neil Miller Piano Lessons book. It is so superior to anything else out there. The explanations are very clear on issues as difficult as reading notes, calendar, scales, chords, practice and memorize. In addition, it is much more – just to name a few: how a piano, what type of piano to purchase, print and recorded music, find a good teacher (probably the one as well as Neil Miller – I can not imagine anyone better!). It is a huge collection – complete and informative. He also has great stories and personal reflections on each topic. I am grateful for what I learned in the book of piano lessons, because now I find new music quickly, to make significant progress with antiques, and playing the piano as I have always wanted. I’ll make another recommendation – if you are a parent considering piano lessons (including music lessons on another instrument) for your child, do not waste time and money in the wrong teacher – Buy this book !

After I retired I started practicing the piano after years of not playing. Initially, I took piano lessons from a pianist who had studied with Rosina Lhevinne at the Julliard School.
Neil Miller This book covers many things I learned from my piano teacher, particularly the sections on how to practice. For example, how to practice a difficult area in music, both Neil and my teacher called “the repair of a fracture.”
Many many other areas are covered in terms concise, clear and understandable. I will not list them all, but can be found by looking through the book table of contents. In addition to a very interesting read through this initial book is often used as a general reference for me. ” , br />
Recommned this book to any adult who wants to learn more about the piano music and art. Both Neil and my teacher showed me that the original piano can be a story love. Even Chip spiritual journey that enriches life.

We bought this book for my son who was struggling with his practice. He has 11 years and has made a tremendous difference in his game and his desire to practice! His teacher was so impressed last week when he came in and played each piece to perfection with the sentiment. Instead of struggling with the same week that room, after weeks of age, he finally got some new parts and loves to play, because he understands a lot more now. A great book!

My wife has already reviewed this book, and I agree with everything he said. But if, like me, you’re skeptical enough to think that “students of Mr. Miller said that was fine, but why should I buy your book?” So, here are some reasons:
,
First of all, Miller is passionate about the piano for teaching, so the book does not “look at me” flowers of the type seen in some projects of the edition vanity of people want to sell the next big thing. The writing here is friendly and informative rather than bombastic.
Second Book, Miller is easy on the eyes with a clean design and effective use of graphics, sidebars, and formatting conventions.
Thirdly, Miller never forget that making music involves more technical and more than to play the right notes at the right time. knows Miller theory of music from the inside – a rarity in itself – but he also knows the history of music enough to mention the likes of Duke Ellington in the appropriate context. As Ellington, Miller never drops musical snobbery, and pick up any good advice from various genres.
To put it differently: If you were a cellist who had the opportunity to take a master class for Yo-Yo Ma, do you take that chance? Miller does not have that kind of name recognition, but the “Tao of Piano” which is the subject of this book after a life to teach students about the benefits of piano at all levels and people who love them.
Piano piano, because the teaching of the subject matter of piano teachers because even if no CP, so that much of what the property is not limited to what Thomas Moore (contemporary author, not the English saint of the sixteenth century with a similar name) is celebrating called the care of the soul. ” Miller knows and shares his knowledge with the rest of us. This book is nothing less than a public service.
